The name is wrong, it's not the Tizi n'Test! The gradient is moderate, around 10%, with short bursts up to 16% according to the bike computer. The road is mostly good, but there are some nasty potholes that can ruin a fast descent.

Cycled this in May 2025. Great pass but there a lot of civil engineering taking place and in turn lots of dust from the construction works and trucks that are constantly passing you. Lots of temporary gravel in place of the road some of which was a pretty big for a gravel bike but still rideable. Beautiful pass and I can see why it would be a stunning ride on the right day. Iconic spot, worth seeing

We drove the mountain pass road from Ouirgane to Oulad Berhil in mid-November 2025. The road is generally passable, however, the effects of the landslide are still clearly visible, and the road is in poor condition! Large sections are currently being rebuilt, some stretches have deep potholes, and there are many gravel sections. As of November 2025, there is construction traffic everywhere. In many places, there are no guardrails because they have slipped down or are no longer there at all. Nevertheless, it's generally manageable with a gravel bike. It's in no way comparable to a European mountain pass! Anyone looking for an adventure with unique views should definitely check the weather conditions beforehand ;)

A bikers highlight, no doubt. Watch out the weather forecast before going. I went over the pass twice within 7 days and the conditions were very different. From 8°C and 45kn wind with overcast skies during the first crossing to 15°C with 10kn wind and blue sky at the second part. Windy is a good tool for that to know what you can expect up there.

From here you already have fantastic views and it is not far to the summit.
