Beautiful spot with great panoramic views. Interesting oak tree at the summit.

There is a lot to see and hear on your walk around Årslev Engsø: you can watch the cattle grazing, hear the frogs croaking and look out for the birds. There are several observation towers along the way. The lake was renaturalized in 2002/2003 and now offers a protected space for animals and plants. A circular path leads around the lake.

Quite a steep climb to the top, there is also a staircase which makes the top easier to reach

The forest out there is very wild with many insects. The story attached to the place makes it exciting. There are a few stones and signs that tell the story, but there is more online. The moat and the huge fallen oak are prominent in the landscape, and are hidden a nice distance from the road.

The bog was used for grazing cattle for many years which was maintained by a local group of volunteers. Since the 2010s the bog is a rewilding project with Galloway cattle, Belties, water buffalo and wild horses. According to Wikipedia Geding-Kasted Bog is one of the most important catchment areas for the water supply in Aarhus Municipality and the city of Aarhus. Is said to be a great spot for birding. The meteor split just before the otherwise undramatic impact and two pieces were recovered. They are known as Aarhus I (at 300g) and Aarhus II (at 420g). Aarhus I was found in the small woodland of Riis Skov, just a few minutes after impact. Most of the meteor is in Copenhagen, but a small piece in the Natural History Museum in Aarhus.
