The memorial stone is made of natural stone with several inscriptions: On the front is a plaque with a quote from Goethe relating to Luxembourg. On the back is a medallion with Goethe's portrait. On the side, another plaque indicates its erection by the student association Assoss. Both the inscriptions and the medallion were designed by the Luxembourg sculptor Albert Kratzenberg. Goethe stayed in Luxembourg in 1792 during the War of the First Coalition, accompanying the French campaign. His stay in the city was part of his travel experiences, which he later incorporated into his writings.

Created by the artist Fabricio Cocchia, the sculpture depicts a double flight of doves emerging from a pool of water. For visitors who enjoy walking, a stroll along the plateau's viewpoints offers impressive views of the lower town and the Alzette Valley.

The Luxembourg Solidarity Monument with the Eternal Flame is located on the so-called Kanounenhiwwel (Cannon Hill) in Luxembourg City. It was erected in 1971 to commemorate the victims of World War II and the resistance and solidarity of the Luxembourg people against the German occupation. A central element of the monument is the Eternal Flame, which symbolizes the eternal remembrance of the victims. The paved courtyard behind the flame symbolizes the prisons, concentration camps, and barracks of the Nazis.

In 963, Count Sigefroi had a castle built on the Bock rock, which laid the foundation for what would later become the city of Luxembourg. In the mid-18th century, the Austrians began to expand the casemates of the Bock rock. These impressive defensive structures provide a fascinating insight into the sophisticated fortress architecture that earned Luxembourg the nickname "Gibraltar of the North".
