The Paradeplatz, popularly known as the “City Salon”, was designed by Sebastian van Noyen from Utrecht and completed in 1671 under Governor Jean Charles de Landas.
The French troops of Louis XIV planted linden trees, paved the square and used it as a parade ground.
Nowadays, open-air concerts are organized here in the summer and the Christmas market in the winter.

Die Adolphe-Brücke ist Luxemburg: sie ist in Luxemburger Sandstein erbaut, nutzt aber auch Zement und Eisenbeton. Sandstein erinnert an traditionelle Baumaterialien, wobei der Beton des Brückendecks auf neue industriell hergestellte Produkte der Luxemburger Eisenindustrie hinweist.
Die Brücke wurde in den Jahren 1900 bis 1903 nach den Plänen des Ingenieurs Paul Séjourné errichtet. Sie zeigt zwei nebeneinander gebaute Steinbögen. Sie boten mit 84,55 m damals die größte Spannweite weltweit. Das Bauwerk unterscheidet sich stark vom Viadukt mit 24 Bögen welcher bereits zu Festungszeiten errichtet worden war. Seit 2017 führt eine beeindruckende Fahrrad-und Fußgängerbrücke unterhalb der Spanndecke der Brücke hindurch.

Am Ausgang der Fahrrad-und Fußgängerbrücke befindet sich das 2018 errichtete Denkmal „Friedensbaum“ welches den Einsatz während 50 Jahre der Luxemburger Freiwilligenarmee und 150 Jahre Militärkapelle ehrt. Das Kunstwerk wurde von Hedva Ser geschaffen, eine von der UNESCO für ihren Einsatz für Frieden, Dialog der Kulturen und soziale Eingliederung geehrte Bildhauerin.

Der Metzer Platz wird durch das Neu-Renaissance Gebäude mit polygonalem Turm des Sitzes der Bank-und Sparkasse Luxemburgs beherrscht. Architekt Jean-Pierre Koenig hatte die Pläne zum Bau 1911 entworfen. Das Bankenmuseum, in der ehemaligen Schalterhalle, erzählt die Geschichte des Finanzplatzes. Die rechte Seite des Platzes wird von der ehemaligen Eisenbahngeschäftsstelle eingenommen. Architekt Josef Jüsgen hatte die Pläne 1913 gezeichnet. Während der Befreiung Luxemburgs (1944-1945) hatte General Omar Bradley, Oberster Befehlshaber der 12th US Army Group, hier sein „Headquarter“ eingerichtet. Die europäische Berufung Luxemburgs führt in die Vorkriegsjahre zurück. Luxemburgs Rolle als Hauptstadt der Montanunion stellt einen weiteren Höhepunkt dieser Entwicklung dar. Am Metzer Platz nahm die Montanunion am 10. August 1952 ihre Arbeit auf. Heute wird das Gebäude von der Bank-und Sparkasse Luxemburgs genutzt.
Auf N° 57 am Boulevard de la Pétrusse, befindet sich die Villa Pauly. Ihr Name erinnert an den ersten Eigentümer, Dr Norbert Pauly. Während der Kriegsjahre, diente das Wohnhaus als Sitz der politischen Polizei des nationalsozialistischen Regimes (GESTAPO). Hier wurden mehr als 2.000 Menschen verhört und zum Teil gefoltert. Inschriften am Eingang erinnern an das Leiden von Resistenzlern und Patrioten welche ihre Heimat verteidigten. Eine weitere Inschrift gedenkt den 1.300 jüdischen Opfern, darunter den vielen Kindern, deren Verschleppung und Vernichtung 1941 hier geplant wurde. Auf N°54 befand sich vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg die jüdische Schule.

The four-meter-wide cycle path, which is also open to pedestrians, runs below the roadway and between the main arches, offering a view of the valley to the side. The path is suspended as a suspension bridge beneath the existing Adolphe Bridge and was opened in 2017.
