About halfway between Cabana Suru and Cabana Negoiu, at an elevation of 2011 meters, lies Lacul Avrig (German: Flecksee), a picturesque glacial lake. Those who don't mind the cold can even swim in it.

The spectacular scenery, well-marked trails, and peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect place for a nature getaway. Whether you're a hiker, cyclist, or simply want to enjoy the fresh air, this place has everything you need for a memorable experience. Don't forget to bring your own drinks, as there are no water supplies in the area, and staying hydrated is essential to make the most of the trail!

Is also very suitable for camping as it is quite flat, or to park your caravan here. When I was camping there, there were still quite a few caravans there. You also have a great sunrise from here. The only drawback is that there is no spring or river within walking distance.

Great rest area with spring and fireplace. Only wood is rather rare here and would have to be brought along.

The Stone Gate is a huge portal opened in the rock, located on the narrow edge that detaches to the west from the top of the Stone Gate. The Stone Gate is one of the eight gates known to date in the Cozia massif. It is easily accessible from Curmatura Mocirlele.

From the small ledge you have a wonderful view down into the valley

Beautiful mountain lake that can be easily reached with hiking equipment in good weather. We first hiked over the summit of Setea Mare and then descended from this side to the lake. The path here is not that steep. We found the descent via this route more pleasant as it was directly from the first sign. The mountain lake invites you to linger in good weather, we also saw other hikers with tents who stayed here.

Great view of the beautiful mountain lake Calcescu. Definitely worth a hike. Pack enough drinks in as there are no places to stop for a break on the way there.
