The Vogelsberg Lake is the largest lake in the Dietesheim quarries. The hike around the Vogelsberg Lake in the former quarries is an easy and well-walkable route that is suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers. The route covers a distance of a good 5 kilometers.

The Dietesheim quarries are a small recreational area in Mühlheim am Main in Hesse. You hike on small paths through shady forest and circle one lake after another. Steep rock faces from the former basalt open-cast mine appear again and again. There are 3 designated routes for hiking (indicated on the sign). You will also meet a lot of cyclists. A little tip: don't forget mosquito spray.

An idyllic place for photo lovers very nice photo opportunities. It's fun to hike around the lakes and enjoy nature 😁. Not too crowded on Friday mornings either 🔝🫶

The dead trees are a popular photo motif. A must on any visit to the quarries. Beautiful in every season.
