Rydal Water lies in the heart of the Lake District and is connected to the larger lake of Grasmere to the west by the River Rothay. Spectacular views over the lake are offered by "Wordsworth's Seat", a natural rock formation on the western side of the lake, thought to have been one of the poet's favourite places in the Lake District. Situated just off the Grasmere to Ambleside road, this tranquil spot is ideal for a peaceful walk. (VisitLakeDistrict)

Rydal Water is one of the smallest lakes in the Lake District. It is only 3/4 mile long by 1/4 mile at its widest point, that is a pretty small 1.2 kilometres by 400 metres in metric terms. However, it is a very popular place because of the connection to William Wordsworth. The views out over Rydal are great from any vantage point, but particularly from here, where you can get a close-up view of the island.

Due to bad weather I did this chilled out walk..it was quite easy with some great scenery

Below Redial cave there are couple of smaller "caves" or holes if someone is inclined to discover them.
