A detour from the Via Claudia up to the Kronburg or to the guesthouse under the Kronburg is a hot tip. Beautiful location, especially at sunset. You can't go up to the Kronburg (closed). Continuing the journey via Riefenal to Zams is great.👍

Kronburg Castle, Zams The ruins of the Kronburg can be seen from afar on a steep rock between Zams and Schönwies. The castle was built in 1380 by Johann von Starkenberg and extensively rebuilt in 1504 by the Fieger family. The castle has not been inhabited since 1766 and was left to decay. In 1985 the complex was restored on the initiative of the "Save the Kronburg" association.
