Very beautiful old town!

One of the most beautiful towns in the area

Beautiful little town, you can relax here 👍👍💯🤪

A magnificent trail winds through a bucolic landscape along the gorge. Numerous walkways and galleries carved into the cliffs offer breathtaking views of waterfalls and pools. There is an entrance fee to the gorge (CHF 2 per adult and CHF 1 per child), and the trail is closed during the winter until Easter.

Picturesque facades and a historic town centre around a well-kept town square with specialty shops and restaurants create a unique urban space of high quality.

Nice cafes for a short break

The section from the Saanesteg, where you cross the eponymous river, up to and including the dam at Wohlensee and the old hydroelectric power station is a mixture of technology (hydroelectric power and the disused nuclear power station) and nature. This symbiosis makes the section interesting, but overall it is not a challenge, because it is more of a "lesson" in a confined space. Nevertheless, the landscape is attractive and the renatured areas are - depending on the season - very lively and colorful!

Always nice to come through here. Thanks to the weir, circumnavigating Lake Biel is easier and also exciting. The technology is ingenious and a guided tour is absolutely worthwhile. There are enough reports - also from me!
