Between Cecina, Guardistallo and Casale Marittimo, the Fosso Linaglia crosses a small valley and collects the waters of smaller streams. At this point there is a small artificial dam that causes the waters to flow into a small lake.

The area is no longer accessible to visitors. It is completely fenced off and closed. The visitor centre is no longer maintained.

This little idyll appears unexpectedly. The first thing that caught my attention was the croaking of the frogs.

The Bolgheri Oasis has played a leading role in the history of environmental conservation in Italy. It was born thanks to the love for nature of Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, one of the founders and first president of WWF Italy, who in the 1960s wanted to preserve this part of its properties in its natural state without reclamation or construction interventions distorting its original layer of naturalness. The Oasis is jointly managed by the Incisa property and WWF Italy. Inside it brings together all the traditional environments of the Tuscan coast: cultivated fields, pastures and wet meadows, flooded lowland woods, freshwater ponds behind the dunes, coastal tombolo and natural sandy shore. A true sampling of environments that are now rare, not only in Tuscany.

Waterfalls that give rise to a small and intimate, clear and crystalline body of water with a stony beach on which you can dry and rest, immersed in nature in a truly splendid and unexpected place. In the summer period during prolonged periods of drought we do not have much water left.

Near the lake there is an equipped area and on the left you take this really nice path, an excellent alternative to reach the waterfalls or the provincial road towards Canneto or la Sassa.
