The Tanaro valley is particularly rugged, full of caves and grottos. The overall view from here is worth it.

When I was there it was very foggy, which contributed to creating a particularly silent and almost apocalyptic atmosphere, I would say.

The Loreto bridge, built in 1959, has a single span of 119 meters, is about 112 meters high and is among the highest bridges in Europe. Loreto, before being the place famous for the bridge, is a beautiful village nestled on the side of a gorge with a church dedicated to the Madonna di Loreto. The bridge connects the village of Cetta and ends shortly after. The bridge is famous first as the suicide bridge and then for having long been home to one of the few authorized Red Bull locations for Bungee Jumping. After an accident here and other similar ones, the fashion has passed. As you can see from the very high parapet, the fame of the suicide bridge has returned to prominence since then.

This stretch repays all the effort needed to reach it... what can I say? Travel it calmly, stop to admire the natural environment, the caves, the erosion work done by the stream... it doesn't happen often, to travel such spectacular roads! A piece of advice: moderate your speed downhill, the road is almost devoid of protections towards the valley!!!

By "Valle dei Maestri" we mean the whole area that goes from Colle dei Signori to the Gola della Chiusetta, a place of great beauty.

This stretch is of a breathtaking beauty: the road that clings to the vertical rock walls, overlooking the Tanaro River which appears distant and blue, in a gorge that seems infinite to see.
