In the heart of the Hochwald forest lies the 270-hectare "Keller Mulde" nature reserve, characterized by its species-rich wet meadows, fen forests, and valuable habitats. Numerous rare animal and plant species find refuge here – from butterflies and meadow birds to meadow clover and knotweed. 🪶 Tip: If you really want to experience nature, you should consciously walk slowly here. Between dragonflies, buzzing insects, and gentle meadow waves, every break feels special – a quiet gem of the region.

The “7-Heads View” observation tower offers a wonderful view over the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park.

Here you will find a bench from where you can enjoy the view over the nature reserve.

It's a great place to relax while enjoying the view.

Unfortunately, the path and the area around the hut have been destroyed by the deforestation vehicles. Good footwear is required.

A few years ago beavers were spotted here again. Next to the habitat there is a nice little shelter that invites you to take a break and also offers an information board about beavers.
