The Blitzenreuter Lake District has been known as an ecologically valuable area for many years. As early as 1924, the central raised bog core and its non-peat-drained surroundings were protected as a protected forest. In 1937, other parts of the area were designated as a nature reserve (Dornacher Ried with Häckler Ried, Häcklerweiher and Buchsee). Here you can take a wonderful rest. There is a fireplace, a house with several tables and benches, and even a toilet.

A nice break station, where you can also get books and board games from the owner's own publishing house and delicious pear brandy. Just ring and chat.

Very informative lookout point! Indeed, with a little patience I could even watch dragonflies!
