Lake Fallboden lies at an altitude of 2,100 meters 📈 directly beneath the imposing Eiger North Face. Although man-made, it feels like a tranquil natural lake – clear, calm, almost meditative 🙏. When there's no wind, the North Face is reflected impressively in the water 💧, as if the mountain were gazing up at the sky. A wooden platform invites you to linger, marmots scamper through the scree 🦫, and the panorama stretches from the glacier to Kleine Scheidegg. The spot is ideal for a break with a view – quiet, impressive, magical ✨️. A short detour that leaves a lasting impression 😶‍🌫️.

A visit to Iseltwald is often combined with a boat trip on the turquoise-blue Lake Brienz, because especially in spring and summer there are hardly any nicer ways to be chauffeured from A to B. The Augstmatthorn is an impressive mountain in the Bernese Oberland, known for its breathtaking views and rich wildlife. At 2,137 meters high, the summit offers spectacular views of Lake Brienz, the surrounding Alps and, in clear weather, even as far as the Jura. The hike to the Augstmatthorn often starts in Habkern or Lombachalp and leads along well-marked paths through a varied landscape. The trail is challenging and requires surefootedness, especially on steep and rocky terrain. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with wide panoramic views and the opportunity to spot ibexes and other alpine animals.

There is an information pavilion about the north face of the Eiger at Lake Fallbodensee. You receive information about the routes to the summit and a historical review of the first ascent. There are also benches in the water where you can cool your feet and relax after your hike. You also have a great all-round view.
