Batres Castle is located on the right bank of the Guadarrama River in a beautiful spot that combines the riverside grove of poplars and plane trees with the surrounding countryside. It was built between the 15th and 16th centuries and has historically been the palatial residence of the lords of Batres. Curiously, one of those gentlemen was the famous poet Garcilaso de la Vega. Today it is private property and houses the Batres gardening school. On its side runs a beautiful path ideal for hikers and cyclists.

The tower of Pan, or Arroyomolinos, is the only remaining bastion of an ancient castle. Its current state of conservation is very good and it is part of the medieval buildings that can be visited in the Community of Madrid.

Also called Torre del Pan (the only trace of the Castle of Pan), it is a fortification of interesting shape, typical of the late medieval period. It dates back to the 15th century and is located in the historic center, very close to the green areas of Arroyomolinos. It has information panels, so come and learn its history.

San Martín de Valdeiglesias is the capital of the Sierra Oeste de Madrid, in the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama. It is the epicenter of a multitude of outdoor activities and among its monuments is the Coracera castle, originally from the 15th century, this medieval fortress was owned by Álvaro de Luna himself.

This fortress, built in the 15th century, is in a good state of preservation, as a result of several rehabilitation works. The name "de la Coracera" comes from one of its former owners, Antonio Corcuera, whose surname would have degenerated over time.

The path enters San Martín de Valdeiglesias through the hermitage of Cristo de la Sangre and runs through the streets of the town up to the hill where the Coracera castle is located. The medieval fortress is the monumental jewel of the local heritage, it was built by order of Don Álvaro de Luna when he bought the town from the monks of Santa María la Real, in the 15th century, although there was already a tower from the 12th century.
