May 25, 2024: This is a bird hide and work of art in one. The name of the work is: "Viewing hut for non-existent Birds of the Rottige Meente" by O.C. Hooymeijer. Author of The New Guide to Non-Existant Birds of Europe. In the hut you will find posters with examples of these strange birds, such as the German Heron, the Brown Smoker, the Little Boot and the Field Warbler. Highly recommended to go inside!

The Hunehuis is a nature friends house located on the Havelterberg in Drenthe, surrounded by woods, heaths, fens and sand drifts. The area is known as the Drenthe Pompeii because of the many archaeological finds from different periods. The house is run entirely by volunteers and offers a relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to mingle with other guests.
