Located on the shores of a clear water pond in the old quartzite mine of Rahasmäki, the campfire site is a lovely place to have a break. The mine was in operation during 1940-1948, producing about 40,000 tons of white quartzite sand and gravel. There are two lean-to’s with fireplaces, firewood and toilet.

Saunaniemen Kota is a peaceful shelter set on the shores of Paloisjärvi Lake. This Lapp-style kota offers a cozy spot where you can rest, warm up by the fire, and enjoy the lakeside views. Whether you're pausing for a quick break or taking your time to appreciate the quiet beauty of the forest and water, this shelter makes for an inviting stop along the trail.

Next to the viewpoint, there is a cbin with a campfire site. The cabin can be used freely year-round. Please note that there are no trash cans in the shelter. Please take all your trash with you. Let's keep the area clean together.

This is a perfect place to jump in the water and refresh yourself during your ride. You're about halfway around the lake, and you can see the finish line on the other side of the narrowest part. The Tahko ski slopes are visible on the opposite shore.
