알링소스‬에서 가장 멋진 ‪15‬개의 호수

The bathing area Playa Mjörn offers a flat and wide sandy beach, particularly suitable for families with small children. There is no jetty or diving tower here, but there is a kiosk and a toilet. Playa Mjörn is located next to the Mjörnvallen football stadium.

With its 55 square kilometres of water surface, Mjörn is the second largest lake in Västergötland (after Unden). It contains around sixty islands and islets. Some of them are inhabited, while some were used for agriculture until the mid-1950s. Ancient judge's rings and stone coffins, among other things, are evidence that people have lived here for almost 9,000 years. Mjörn has a rich flora and fauna. Around the lake, which is up to 48 metres deep, there are several large manor houses with park-like beech and oak forests alternating with pastures. Around a third of Mjörn is in the municipality of Alingsås.

Mjörns Ångbåtsförening is a non-profit association that owns the steam tug "Herbert" and operates it on Lake Mjörn during the summer months. The association owns four other historic boats and other old machines that have been lovingly restored in the association's shipyard.

Tvärsjönäsvägen is a beautiful typical Swedish hardpack gravel road in between the two lakes Tvärsjön and Uspen. The road is prefect for all bikes, but of course most fun with a gravel bike. It's winding and rolling and gives some great views upon both lakes, especially Tvärsjön since it runs parallel with the lake for a longer periode of time.

The Elljusspår is a local running, cycling and langlauf-ski lane on the east side of Stora Härsjön lake, which indeed is a big lake. The path runs by the waterside and is free of traffic, with some nice twists and turns. It runs back around on the land side or east side, making a full 8 figure. You can also choose to take some of the smaller paths south, but these will have you walking sooner than later unfortunately.

Close by is the historic train station "Antens Station" with steam locomotives and original buildings. Very worth seeing and fun (not only) with children .....
