Snogeholm Castle has a long history, with its origins as a medieval castle dating back to the 14th century. However, the current structure you would see today is a manor house that was built in 1816, replacing the original fortress. This architectural evolution is a key part of its story. It's located on a scenic peninsula that juts into Lake Snogeholm and is an integral part of the surrounding nature reserve.

Beautiful moated castle from the 17th century with spacious green areas and a large park. Unfortunately privately owned, but nice to look at from the M745 (Svarte - Skarby) road.

Glimmingehus in southeastern Skåne is the best preserved medieval castle in Scandinavia. A stately structure, the construction of which was started in 1499 on behalf of Jens Holgersen Ulfstand. Here you can experience a tour of the castle, take part in the occupations of the people in the Middle Ages or enjoy the Middle Ages plate in the restaurant. When Glimmingehus was built, the castle was primarily intended to serve as the magnificent and representative residence of the Danish knight Jens Holgersen Ulfstand and his family. At that time, Skåne was part of Denmark. Archaeological finds show that the household on Glimmingehus was very exclusive. There were several of the most expensive items to buy in Europe at the beginning of the 16th century, including Venetian glass, pressed glass from the Rhine region, and Spanish ceramics.
