The chapel or hermitage is mentioned as early as 1279. During the French religious struggles, a group of Huguenots assassinated the hermit and destroyed (chopped up the Virgin). In 1640 a new alabaster image was sculpted. The old hermit's house and inn are at noon, sheltered from the north winds; this, built in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, operates in the summer and part of the buildings are intended as a refuge for the Center Excursionista Empordanès de Figueres. This sanctuary is a set of terraced buildings, consisting of the chapel, the inn, the shelter and the courtyard. The church, of small dimensions, is of a ship of pointed vault, followed and ringed; with semicircular apse, facing west. La Casa de Talaixà is a refuge of the Olot Excursionist Centre. The house is for the use of the members of the Center Excursionista d'Olot and also for those entities and people who request it.
