The food was very good – and surprisingly, very reasonably priced. You can also stay overnight here – I was given room rates of €78 and €88 for two people. A lovely location – there's a beer garden in an inner courtyard. But you can also sit comfortably inside. Everything is very authentic, without the usual tourist traps. In any case, we were thrilled and can highly recommend it.

It's always nice to have breakfast here, either at the beginning of the tour or to buy everything you need at the end of the tour and then enjoy a leisurely meal on the meadow. Note: Bread is only available in summer (whenever that starts) – so shop beforehand either in Lembach or Philippsbourg!

This building was built in 1959 as an elementary school ("Walthari School"). In 1977, the Palatinate Forest Association Petersbächel-Gebüg took over the vacant school. Until 2022, the "Walthari-Klause" was a popular local for locals and hikers. What will happen to this building is up in the air, as the regional press wrote in January 2024; the search for a tenant has so far been unsuccessful.
