At the end of the summer there is little left of the mountain lake, but shortly after winter (as soon as the paths are passable again) the lake is full of meltwater.

Above the mountain village of Dormillouse is the mountain lake Lac Paluel. Further on is another lake: Lac Faravel.

The starting point of the hike is the campsite directly on the lake. In summer Aquapark at the lake for a fee. Otherwise no entrance fee for the lake.

A nice and flat place to take a break. Either by going around the body of water or on the asphalt road. All at 900m altitude.

Created in 2001, this reserve with a capacity of 65000m³ of water has for main objective the manufacture of artificial snow, it allows to snow access Vars-Risoul. Many trout have taken up residence there. A second hill reserve was inaugurated in 2010 and is located at the top of the Chabrières cable car. The Lac de Peyrol was landscaped and today is a perfect place to picnic and stroll while having a breathtaking view of the Ecrins.
