The ruins of the Besora castle and the Romanesque church of Santa María are located on a hill at more than 1000 meters above sea level. It is worth calmly exploring each of its corners and enjoying the beautiful views.

Lluçà Castle is perched on top of a hill near the center of Lluçà, at an altitude of 896 m. The medieval castle is currently in ruins and the current remains consist of a wall lock on the north side of the complex, two stories high, in which opens a bay window that has lost its column, and two rectangular rooms in the south corner. The larger room, located to the east, was covered with a barrel vault, now collapsed, in which two doors open, covered with a perfectly arched semi-circular arch. The other room is a small, almost square, barrel-vaulted outbuilding accessed through the roof, without any other opening, which suggests that it was a cistern, a hypothesis that is confirmed by its plastered walls and slipped In the northern part of the Castle, a small jewel of the Catalan Romanesque is preserved: the chapel of Sant Vicenç del Castell, one of the few well-preserved churches with a circular plan in all of Catalonia. https://turisme.llucanes.cat/visiteu/castell-de-lluca/ https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castell_de_Llu%C3%A7%C3%A0

Lluçà is a small municipality located in the Osana region, specifically on the Lluçanès plateau. Set in a beautiful natural environment, the town stands out for its medieval heritage consisting of a beautiful monastery, a Romanesque hermitage with a round plant and the ruins of a castle.

All that remains of the castle are badly damaged fragments of walls. The only clearly visible remains are those of the castle's church, dedicated to Santa Maria, and which allow us to see that it was a construction of a nave topped to the east by a semicircular apse. The nave and the apse, preceded by a presbytery section, were covered by barrel vaults. As for the remains of the castle itself, you can see the remains of the closing wall in the northern area of the hill, around the area of access and entrance to the castle. In this same northern area, remains of several rooms of the castle appear. A possible cistern is also located in this sector. In the central part, there would be a pool, documented during the excavation work of the 2006-2010 campaigns. In the southern area, close to the precipice, there are also very eroded fragments of the closing wall. We enjoy a fantastic 360º panorama.

The castle of Olost is located in a hollow – therefore in a not very strategic situation – next to the stream of Olost and to the south of the town of Olost and very close to its main nucleus, although it belongs to the municipality of Oristà. The castle arose in the 11th century after the disappearance of the castle of Oristà. It started as just a watchtower with a rectangular plan. Later on, it became a castle, although it was never a defense fortress but rather a stately residence bringing together feudal possessions. Of the old building, the tower and the Gothic chapel are currently preserved. https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castell_d%27Olost

The old Castle of Torelló, was the jurisdictional center of all the valley, and gave name to the three main populations of its old term: Torelló or Sant Feliu de Torelló, Sant Pere de Torelló and Sant Vicenç de Torelló. Saderra also originally belonged to its territory, but it separated very early, in the 11th century. This castle is currently remembered as a massive circular tower that stands on top of a marly hill, north of the town of Sant Vicenç and within its municipality, almost next to the border with Sant Pere de Torelló. It is clearly visible from the whole Torelló valley and also from the Ter valley, which runs along its western side, as its hill, 781 meters high, is the highest point of the small ridge that separates the lower course of the Ges valley, from the Ter valley. Seen from the side of Torelló, the hill seems lower because it is the backdrop of the Bellmunt mountain range, but if you approach it, you will notice the excellent conditions of defense that it had, and that they were being the main reason why, in very distant times, this place was chosen to build a castle. It is a building declared a cultural asset of national interest.

It is located on top of a rocky spur, to the north of the term. The plan of the current complex is trapezoidal and is the product of several construction phases, of which the oldest (15th-16th century) that is preserved in height corresponds to a square tower, dated to the 15th century, located in the East. The rest of the constructions are delivered to the tower and would be chronologically later (16th-18th centuries). To the south-west of the main complex, a square tower (from the late medieval period) is preserved, which is located on top of a hydraulic mill linked to the castle. This tower is given a section of perimeter wall, which would be later than the tower.[1] The rest of the walls and structures of the medieval construction (except for the aforementioned towers) would be located underground, together with the remains of the evolution and use of the whole complex.[1] The rest of the building consists of three floors, with a rectangular plan and a roof with a double lateral slope on the facade of the entrance door. The central part of the right facade is occupied by the tower with a rectangular plan and with the crowning with battlements redone in a modern way. Around the castle there are several outbuildings that are used as housing by the farmers.[1] The well block stands out, built with a cylindrical body made of stone and mortar, currently restored with the addition of cement, flanked by two pillars with an elongated rectangular base that support a wooden beam that acts as the axis of a double-sloped roof with Arabic tiles On one of the pilasters, on the outer and upper part, the date 1678 is preserved.
