The Hoz River Trail in Santa María del Val is a very popular hiking route in the Serranía de Cuenca. This route offers spectacular landscapes, with impressive rock formations and rich biodiversity.

Peralejos de las Truchas is the first town through which the young Tajo flows. There is a small village shop here that also sells souvenirs and bicycle parts, as well as a campsite where you can also get delicious food.

The path passes through the springs of the Júcar river, runs through the Estrecho del Infierno ravine and connects with a forest track that descends through the river basin. In the birth canyon there are sections with stones and in the rainy season it can have some flow. The water gushes out between the rocks at the exit of the gorge.

This section of the Cueva del Hoyo marked path (PR-CU 17) runs parallel to the river de la Hoz through a picturesque landscape of pine forests and rock canyons, very typical of this area.

Beautiful road that is located between gorges resulting from the passage of the Tagus river over the years through this area. We also find the Puente del Martinete at the western end of the gorge.

Beautiful picnic area or recreational area fully equipped and located in the middle of nature, under a pine forest on the outskirts of Peralejo de las Truchas. There is also a small spring nearby.
