The large replica of the Dama de Elche in front of the palace was no longer to be found here in November 2025.

This building, known as "the little castle," is located on private land near Route 1.

The chapel is beautiful, but the view you can enjoy from here is even better. It's worth the effort, the view from "above" is amazing.

Construction integrated into the old wall, which lost 10 of its 25 meters due to an earthquake in 1829. Built at the end of the 13th century, of the Almohad type, the Calahorra guarded, along with another smaller watchtower located opposite, the most important gate of the walled town, La Lucentina, which faced the road to Alicante. In the XV-XVI centuries, a manor house was attached to it outside the walls, with two floors and a basement, to take advantage of the almudín (grain store) of the time.

The Palace of Altamira or Alcázar de la Señoría, is located in the northwest corner of the old medieval Muslim medina. Three phases can be distinguished in its construction: the Almohad, the work of the 15th and 16th centuries, and the 18th century, which corresponds to the south façade, a two-story residence that was attached to the Count of Altamira and which hides the medieval access, with entrance from the Vinalopó river. The great Tower of Homage housed monarchs - Jaime II, Pedro IV, Alfonso III and the Catholic Monarchs - and the meetings of the General Council of the town until the 15th century. A new rehabilitation has allowed the Archaeological and History Museum of Elche Alejandro Ramos Folqués to be opened in the palace and in the basement of the square, exposing the archeology of the territory, up to the Visigothic period and the history of the city since its creation from the Muslim medina of Ils to the present day.

Petrer Castle is a fortification of Muslim origin built in the 12th century on top of the old part of the city. Its silhouette, visible from afar, is very picturesque due to its large square crenellated tower.

The castle of Muslim origin has almost completely disappeared and next to the rest of its walls is the reformed hermitage of San Pedro. Both are located at the top of the hill, obtaining the best views of the mountains and Agost.

The residence of the nobles of Elche which, between the XV and the XIXth centuries, housed the Torre del Homenaje or Keep and also the Kings Jaime II and Pedro IV and the Catholic Monarchs during their stay in the city, it hosted the meetings of the General Council of the city until the 15th century. It now houses (04-22) part of the new Archaeological and History Museum of Elche.
