We really loved this stretch of beach in Mandal. Beautifully situated in a bay. Clear water, no algae, no stones and fine sand. There is a small parking lot right on the beach. But you have to be there quite early to get a seat. We got there at 9am and got a parking space. But it was also a weekday.

Beautiful views of Lonestrand and the fjord. The hike from Lonebakken past Lake Mågetjern to Vardehei and then here is beautiful, natural and a bit rocky. The trails are all easy to walk on, where it could be difficult, there are ropes attached.

Very nice, hardly traveled route - asphalt throughout. No particularly steep climbs, just a few hills up and then immediately downhill again.
