Even in July it was still so cold that I wore long sleeves on my legs and arms and a thermal vest was a must. And you are not as lonely here as in other parts of Norway...

Fantastic view from the summit. The path is a little difficult to find in places, but very easy to walk.

From Nosi there was still snow. Then it was pretty slippery. View just great.

The tour is classified as "easy", which it definitely wasn't in today's (May 2022) conditions! Mud, leftover snow and steep sections were a real challenge. But the view from the top of Haukasen is really worth the effort! The descent was easier.

The climb up here is out of this world! The road is good all the way up, and is normally open from around May 1st. The Fonna Summer Ski Center is here, so you'll see a lot of snowboarders and skiiers around all summer! Beware of the weather. It can be cold at the top all year - and weather can change rapidly. So bring extra clothes for the descent.

Spectacular views over the surrounding fjords and green, rocky landscapes. Depending on the weather, you may find yourself hiking above the clouds.

Viewpoint at 905 meters with a great fjord panorama. The steep climb over the Mönchstreppe is worthwhile!

This was a great hike with beautiful scenery. The steps are a little tricky to maneuver but with poles you should be fine. Bring a jacket. Make sure the weather is good because it is drastically colder on the Nosi.
