Hello to all Komoot users, Le Grand Bois Commun (SC) is a cooperative in Braine-le-Comte. www.legrandboiscommun.be In 2019, just under 2,000 citizens purchased this 80 hectares of forest for protection. Recently, approximately 75% of its surface area was declared a Nature Reserve. Please be sure to stay on the paths and keep dogs on leashes. This beautiful waterfront building was built around 1515 by a Brussels alderman. It is a square building with square corner towers and a pear-shaped roof, surrounded by protective ponds. The castle has been completely restored and serves as a municipal cultural center. In the castle park there are a few interesting outbuildings such as the former coach house from 1731, now a cozy tavern and a garden pavilion with a stair tower.

The castle park itself is forbidden for cyclists. There are bicycle sheds at the entrance.

Can be visited from June to September, Coloma Park Domain This park is known for its beautiful castle and rose garden of absolute world class. More than 3,000 different rose varieties from all continents grow here. The 15 hectare domain of Coloma is also wonderful for walking and strolling. The direct descendants of the ancient roses grow here and the park is the largest rose garden in Europe

Le grand bois commune in Virginal Samme, in wet weather it is very muddy. There are 2 small ponds with, strangely, electricity poles in the largest pond. There are also agricultural tools rusting in a shed. There is also a spring along the hiking trail.
