The history of Tavigny Castle in Louis XVIII style dates back to the Middle Ages. Originally it was a simple defensive tower with sides of 10 meters wide. At the beginning of the 19th century it served as the headquarters for those responsible for the Meuse-Moesel Canal. Today it is privately owned.

Steinbach literally means “Stream of stones” Located on the eastern side of the Ourthe, its lush natural landscapes, as well as its pretty woods, will delight all walkers. For several centuries Steinbach was the center of the Houffalize region of feudal law exercised by the Lords to dispense justice. The region, and more particularly its village, is an ideal place to enjoy the Belgian Ardennes. Some buildings are remarkable, some of which are classified as heritage.
