This is actually the Kasteeldomein de Blondel de Beauregard in Viane. This expansive estate is located on the Edingseweg. It includes a large fishpond. The castle was severely damaged by a fire in 2020. Its future is unclear. A holiday home and mobile home park with a tent field is located on the estate by the fishpond.

There are many different attractions around Gaverplas lake. People can be seen fishing on the lakeside banks. There is a big fountain, restaurants, bars and cafes. Many different paddle boats are at the main building section. Good new gravel tracks go around the lake. It is a popular area as the campsite is connected also and local people pass through

In the 19th century, the pond contributed to the Abbey Park's function as a spa. Later, residents came to sail there, and in the 1970s, it evolved into a fishpond. Today, there are no fish left, and over 4,000 m³ of sludge was removed. The retaining wall was repaired, the parapet replaced, and a wooden platform was installed. Now it's up to nature. Thanks to several springs, the pond is filled completely naturally and without human intervention. It's the ideal spot to spot frogs, dragonflies, and many other species. The Poelaertplas is a large lake in the provincial domain De Gavers in Onkerzele, a sub-municipality of Geraardsbergen. The lake is approximately 20 hectares in size and has a maximum depth of 4.5 meters. You can swim, kayak, dive, fish or just enjoy the nature and the view. The lake is named after the Poelaert family, who used to own the domain. The lake was created by sand extraction for the construction of the E40 motorway in the 1970s.
