Pietra Portusata is a peak located in the municipality of Sant'Agata di Esaro, in the province of Cosenza, Calabria. With an altitude of about 1,215 meters above sea level, it is located on the slopes of Montea, within the Pollino National Park. One of the most popular routes starts from the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Pettoruto, passing through the ancient settlement of Artemisia and continuing towards Pietra Portusata, and then descending along the Rosa River. This circular itinerary offers panoramic views and passes through places of historical and naturalistic interest. Another option is the excursion that connects San Sosti, Artemisia, Pietra Portusata and Sant'Agata di Esaro. This approximately 16 km route has a significant difference in altitude, reaching a maximum altitude of 1,183 meters. 🌄 Natural features The Pietra Portusata area is characterized by mountain landscapes, forests and rock formations. The summit offers a panoramic view of the Esaro Valley and the surrounding mountains. Monte Palanuda is located at 1632 meters, and from here it is possible to observe the Timpone Garrola. Near Monte Palanuda there is also the point where the Argentino river starts.

Cozzo del Pellegrino is a spectacular peak, the highest of Orsomarso, located in the westernmost part of the Pollino National Park, near San Donato di Ninena, in the province of Cosenza.
