I am saddened and sorry to see the Santa Maria refuge in a state of complete abandonment. 😔 It is a place with one of the most beautiful views of Lake Iseo I have ever seen, but thanks to the wicked managers, this is the end it has come to.

Cascina Margherita is open in the spring/summer period and offers travellers food and refreshments. Traditional cuisine (Salami, melted cheese, polenta, cutting boards). Housed in an old farmhouse, it enjoys a panoramic view of Brescia of rare beauty. Nestled in a green clearing immersed in the woods of Mount Maddalena, it is a fundamental crossroads for DH trails and slopes.
