Lake Castel Trosino is located in Ascoli Piceno in the medieval town of the same name, full of panoramic points and historical-naturalistic assets, such as the large Lombard necropolis with 34 tombs, rich in precious manufactures made of glass, gold and silver. The lake is formed by the damming of the Castellano stream, a right tributary of the Tronto river. Downstream of the dam it is possible to see the confluence of the river inside the Roman aqueduct that brought water to Ascoli, while upstream of the lake are the famous sulphurous water springs (salmacina), already known by the Romans, some of which are still visible despite the presence of the lake and can be reached thanks to the cycle/pedestrian path created for this purpose. Furthermore, along the lake, there is a park where you can go hiking and mountain biking. Adults and children can also observe the animals that live in this environment, such as herons and fish, thanks to the observation point on the side of the lake. Magnificent waterfall over ten meters high along the Fluvione stream. Its leap is spectacular and can be admired from the stone bridge adjacent to the old Pignoloni mill. Before the waterfall, the stream forms a small lake with very shallow and calm waters where it is possible to find relief from the summer heat.

The Arena waterfall, a natural jewel of Roccafluvione, is a drop of water of over 10 meters, created by the Fluvione stream between steep rocks. Next to it stands the Pignoloni Mill, built in the 17th century. Above the waterfall is a lake created by a weir. In autumn, the lake offers a unique show. The best observation point is the bridge overlooking the waterfall, a stone's throw from the ancient mill of Arena.

In this lake there is the crested newt, an amphibian of the Salamandrid family. During the mating period this amphibian displays a dorsal and caudal crest, making it look like a small dragon.

Lake Gerosa is an artificial basin that rises to 650 meters. s.l.m. only 6 km from Montemonaco.

Lake Gerosa is an artificial basin located inside the park of the Sibillini Mountains. It can be reached by an asphalted road on the right or on the left with a nice dirt road that runs along the entire lake.
