The Pian della Capanna refuge is open most of the year, especially from spring to autumn. It remains a point of reference for those who undertake the path of Saint Francis and for this purpose it offers a bivouac that is always open next to the structure.

Wonderful place, the best stop coming from Camaldoli (Badia Prataglia is too close and it is better to get closer to La Verna and then have time to admire the sanctuary). Familiar and helpful welcome.

Refuge guarded but closed. Open bivouac with fireplace, table, benches, some wall units and sink with uncontrolled water. Outside there is a large garden with tables and barbecues under a large loggia. The view is also beautiful.

Unattended refuge with large fireplace, 2 tables, many benches and a mezzanine that can accommodate up to 4 people for the night. Plenty of wood even if very wet, broom and many windows which make it suitable for barbecues in company but a little less suitable for overnight stays if you don't intend to wake up at dawn :)

Pilgrims stop on the Via del Nord (St Francis Way) on the stage from La Verna to Pieve Santo Stefano.

Pian della Capanna is a fantastic stopping place. Genuine local products. It is worth making a stop before continuing to the Monti della Luna

In the back of the building there is a shelter that is always open. Light, water, a stone table and two cots

Very nice place, with sauna and outdoor swimming pool with hot water for a pleasant return from walks
