The patron saint of San Giovanni Valdarno is St. John the Baptist.

At first glance, the perfect route. But it turns out to be extremely mountainous and rocky with undergrowth and aggressive mosquitoes. The bathing lake was all the more inviting. But I was out without any bathing equipment. After that, a rocky single trail uphill and through the vineyards of Chianti back to Gaiole. A wonderful refreshment in the market square, honestly deserved!

The lake in the San Cipriano gully is a small body of water located near the town of San Giovanni Valdarno. It is surrounded by a forest of oak, chestnut and poplar trees and is believed to have been the baptismal place of San Cipriano, the patron saint of San Giovanni Valdarno.

The Borro di San Cipirano, also known as the Santa Barbara Basin, is an artificial body of water near the town of the same name. The southern part offers a more relaxing atmosphere.

as soon as I take the Chianti crossroad I rest near this lake, I still have to go up ... to reach the dirt road that will take me back to Panzano

Riserva Naturale della Valle dell'Inferno e Bandella is a wonderful area (with many mosquitos ☹).
