Magnificent view from Monte Oro and I think you are almost always alone (I didn't meet anyone except four climbers a little further down on the north face)

With good footwear and a bit of surefootedness, the ascent is easy. You don't have to climb. At most, you'll have to scramble a bit. A very beautiful path, but you have to look for it carefully.

On Monte IDOLO, hikers will not come across a summit cross - as is often the case. The small sacred monument that instead rises above Sardinia is a statue of SAN MICHELE ARCANGELO. The heavenly messenger is equipped with powerful wings, which give him an imposing figure. However, one will look in vain for a sword or a lance, which are often given to him as an attribute.

A summit that is easy for experienced hikers to reach. The path over the stones is well marked with cairns. Anyone who goes up here is allowed to put up one or two cairns.

Summit that is not easy to reach with an outstanding panoramic view. The ascent is short but demanding. The last piece is not marked on the map. You have to look for the route to the summit yourself for the most part. Partly white cairns to point you in the right direction. The ascent can only be mastered by easy climbing (T4+/T5). Overall, and with the necessary caution, but well feasible ...... but also depends a bit on the body size. Definitely not only something for climbers but for everyone who feels comfortable in alpine terrain.

Don't be alarmed: During the ascent you have to climb over a shepherd's fence or cheat your way through ;)

The climb is well worth it! You have a great view over Santa Maria Navarrese to Arbatax and in the other direction over the mountains and the east coast :-) Easy to reach with sturdy shoes and enough water!

Mount Idolo 1240m. Great view of the coast to the east with the Arbatax, Tortioli and the surrounding area as well as the towns of Arzana and co, almost below the summit.
