The Berga valley is a wonderful valley appreciated by hiking lovers, thanks to the numerous paths that cross the area. One of the main points of interest is the Berga pass, which serves as a crossroads for many hiking itineraries, such as the Mare pass, the Rosa di Baremone refuge, the Portole pass, the Pezzeda pass and the Giogo del Maniva.

Forest road with an excellent surface that allows you to pedal despite the steep slopes. The valley of the Zerlo torrent is always cool in the hottest season and very cold during the cold season.

Please avoid this path. It cost me and my girlfriend the last nerves and we are very happy to have found it out of this dangerous gorge. Sometimes it really was the case that there was no way and we had to fight our way through the jungle.

An alternative climb to Casto-Lodrino is this which crosses the remote Duppo valley, no cars, no houses, only hunters in autumn. It seems to be in the high mountains and instead it is 500m above sea level. A rare sight!
