타프라우트는 인구 약 6000명의 안티아틀라스 산맥에 있는 작은 마을이자 농촌 지역입니다.

Coming from the desert (Atlas Mountain Race route) via the Afra-Tagmout track, this is the first supply station. The small supermarket isn't open all day, but the owner is quickly informed and opens when hungry cyclists arrive.

That's right. A little further on, you'll find a veritable Garden of Eden with argan trees. However, this isn't the Ait Mansour Gorge, as stated in the heading, but rather the gorge of the Amtoudi spring. Ait Mansour is closer to Tafraoute.

Very rough gravel, difficult to ride on gravel bikes but doable! The descents are fun, and sometimes you have to carry a bit of the bike when the road simply ends.

There is no tent at the top anymore, but you can find several little and two bigger stone shelters close to the road. The piste has two interruptions on the east side which have walk around paths. These are easy for light packed bikes and a bit more difficult if you are loaded with panniers. Other than that it’s completely rideable with tires which are 50 mm or wider. The wider the better 2.25-2.6 seems to be a sweet spot.

Apart from accommodation, it is also possible to ask to visit the Kasbah (20 dirham) and there is a restaurant with terrace to eat or just have a drink on the road. Beautiful views of the surroundings!
