Here is a particularly beautiful viewpoint of the lake, and the shoreline has been adorned for many years with a rustic tree trunk featuring fascinating protrusions. The bowl-shaped cavities are the remnants of former branchings, the "joints" of this dead tree, so to speak. They look magnificent. It's worth taking a look, and taking photos too. A great subject. And, of course, an exceptionally beautiful place to linger for a while!

You should go all the way around. It is also nice to take the path with a section along the Hellmühler river.

As of May 2022, all trees across the path had been cut free. With a touring bike you could travel the path without any problems.

Beautiful, quiet shore path with great views of the lake, but severely restricted by tree growth.

The east bank in particular is difficult to drive. Magnificent views of the lake. Lots of hikers on the way.

As of March 2022, numerous fallen trees are scattered along the entire bank path. It is very difficult to get through here by bike.

Hellsee is a feast for the eyes in every season. Very popular in summer with many small bathing spots and very popular in spring and autumn for a hike in the sea of colors. In winter with snow and ice sometimes on the lake
