The Perfstausee is located in the north of the Gladenbacher Bergland. It offers a lot of leisure activities and is therefore very popular with families with children. The observation post is particularly interesting, a little away from the circular route, which is located in a nature reserve. When the weather is clear and fine, ducks, swans and all kinds of bird species can be admired and observed.

The dam in the Perftal mainly serves as a flood retention basin. It was put into operation in the early 1990s. Bathing is not allowed here, but a stop is still worthwhile, as there is a restaurant on the shore and in summer there is also a kiosk.
