Lake Trammer is located north of Plön and belongs to the municipalities of Plön and Rathjensdorf. The lake is partly privately owned and partly owned by the state of Schleswig-Holstein.

In spring and early summer, sea eagles can be observed at their nests from a platform set up by the Sea Eagle Protection Project Group in Schleswig-Holstein (access from Rathjensdorf).

The islands of Groter Warder and Ziegen Warder are connected by a narrow strip of land. The lake's shoreline is 7.9 kilometers long, making it ideal for a walk around the lake. The lake's swimming area is located in the heart of Plön. Tip: From the Parnaßturm (Parnaß Tower) in Plön, you have a fantastic view of Lake Trammer and its islands.
