This approximately five kilometer long route is one of the most beautiful cross-country trails in the Engadine lake landscape. You glide from Maloja over Lake Sils, past Isola to Sils Maria. As soon as the Upper Engadine lakes are covered with a thick layer of ice, the track vehicles move out and prepare a wonderful cross-country ski trail for winter sports enthusiasts. The route offers fun for everyone: around 20 meters are prepared for skating, and four lanes are available for classic cross-country skiing. This makes the flat route suitable for both beginners and professionals. If the route is too short for you, there are many kilometers of cross-country trails that run through the high valley. For example, you can turn around at Sils and walk past the Chasté peninsula back to Maloja. The starting point is on the lakeshore in Maloja. You can either arrive by bus or park at Giacometti Sport. There you will also be provided with the appropriate equipment if you don't have your own skis.
