2월 22, 2025, Louis Bourget Park Beach
A small idyll on the very edge of Lausanne: the Louis Bourget Park. It is named after a doctor, naturalist and ornithologist who, during his lifetime from 1856 to 1913, campaigned for this spot to be declared a nature reserve.

8월 28, 2024, Église Saint-Sulpice and Lake Geneva View
The foundations of this church, an example of Romanesque art in Vaud, date from before the year 1000. Of the old Romanesque building, only the apses with semi-dome, the choir, the vaulted transept and a crossing surmounted by a square bell tower remain. The interior is extremely sober, although the colourful decoration softens the severity. The building has been used for Protestant worship since the 16th century.

A walk along the harbor is always great and has that certain something; whether by the lake or the sea - there is always a lot to observe and marvel at

8월 22, 2023, Louis Bourget Park Beach
The Louis Bouget Park is located on the western edge of the municipality. The Chamberonne River forms the border with the municipalities of Ecublens and St-Sulpice, where the University of Lausanne and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology are located. The park offers the only natural beach on Lake Geneva in the Lausanne area. This park, which has more than a kilometre of lakefront and is therefore also suitable for swimming, has two faces: from October to March, you can take solitary walks in an environment shaped by water and wind. From April to September, the lawns are taken over by families and students from sunrise until late at night. https://www.lausanne-tourisme.ch/de/entdecken/park-louis-bourget/

After a short drive in the old village of St-Sulpice and a short descent, we discover this magnificent Romanesque church. If some want, they can take the boat from here or walk along the lake to the marina. Calm and wonder await you

7월 31, 2020, Swimming Spot at Parc du Bourget
Located between the Chamberonne and the port of Vidy, this common path with pedestrians crosses the Parc du Bourget. The path is new asphalt and is therefore very pleasant. The path is slightly protected from the sun thanks to the many trees that line the path. All along there are small secluded pebble beaches ideal for soaking your feet and sunbathing. Be careful not to drive too fast, the route is shared with pedestrians.

This lakeside is quite flat and can therefore be walked effortlessly. There is a wonderful view of the lake. We pass in front of the Olympic museum, the Haldimand tower and the landing stage. Regularly you can see the steamboats along the coast. A cycle path runs all along the quays. It is separate from the road for cars and from the space for pedestrians. During the summer, the road is closed to cars on weekends. It is undoubtedly worth the detour.

In Ouchy, the traditional port of Lausanne, you will find striking 19th-century hotel buildings, such as the Gothic-style Hôtel du Château d'Ouchy (1889-93), the Hôtel d'Angleterre (1775-79) and the Hôtel Beau- Rivage (1858-61). Among the well-known visitors are the noble family Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn and Richard Strauss, who lived here with Pauline Strauss-de Ahna for a few years and finished his opera Die Frau ohne Schatten. Along the waterfront stretch extensive parks, such as the Parc du Denantou, with resting places, sculptures and recreational opportunities on Quai and a neo-Gothic tower ruin of 1830. The port area is not only as a recreational area and especially for tourists exceptionally popular, it also enjoys inline skaters and related sports of great popularity. Other attractions in the harbor area and its generously sized park include the seaside resort Bellerive-Plage of 1937 and the extensive grounds of the Swiss National Exhibition of 1964 and the Olympic Museum (Musée Olympique) and the Musée de l'Elysée. Interesting atmosphere at the port with a view of Lake Geneva and the partially snow-capped mountains on the other side. Here you have the opportunity to cross over to Evian, for example.
