In De Nachtegaal there is not only a café and bistro where you can taste a lot of delicious regional food after a nice walk or a tough bike ride, Annelies and Koen also have their retro campsite. And you can take that retro literally. “Guests can sleep here in Airstreams, Bourgeois, De Reu, Constructam, Souveraine, SMV… all oldies from the 60s and 70s,”

Not only is the parking lot ideal to start your walk. Be sure to visit the De Nachtegaal eatery before or after your walk. It is a cozy place located on the slopes of the Rodeberg in Westouter, Heuvelland. The café offers a beautiful view of the surrounding vineyards and forests. It is an ideal location for both a relaxing and an active holiday, with plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling in the area. The café serves a variety of local dishes and drinks, including Trappist beer, Picon Maison, fresh tea and espresso. Guests can also enjoy freshly baked pancakes and other regional specialties. In addition to the café, there is a camping site with two camping fields for tents, caravans and campers. There are also 15 vintage caravans available for overnight stays, including breakfast. There is a play area for children, and the camping site offers all necessary facilities such as showers, a sanitary block and a veranda with bar.

Of the 7 birdwatching points in the Blankaart, De Otter is the closest to the parking lot. It is a spacious hut, with a board at writing height in front of the benches. Practical for the birdwatcher who wants to write down his observations.

These singletacks in this neighborhood are never boring! Be careful, just like I said, small resistance is needed in Keuneleute, the gradient increases to just under 10%, the average is 5%. The worst climb is to enter at the south gate and keep to the right. Don't forget to visit the polder forest, closer to Westrozebeke.
