Stenata is the second lowest Vitosha peak above 2000 m. It is easily accessible from the gravel road leading to Cherni vrah. Stenata provides beautiful views in all directions making it a great spot to hang out.

There are various of names of the peak, that are effectively synonyms: Bachun, Bachul, etc. It has to be noted that the signs are referring to Bachul (Бачул in Bulgarian). Further there are at least 3 peaks with the same name close one to another: Small Bachun, Middle Bachun and (big) Bachun. The late is surprisingly by certain 5 meters lower than the middle one. There is another (kind of a) peak marked with the Bulgarian flag that some tourists consider being Bachun - the distance from there to middle Bachun is less than 10 min and from there to Bachun - another 5-10 min.

Very nice place to walk. There is a place to sit and eat sandwiches with a view.

The peak is actually a wide plateau. Great place for a short break with a beautiful view. If you don't feel like walking much, there is a dirt road near the peak. It exists on Google Maps.

This is one of the hidden gems of Vitosha. It is relatively easy accessible - you should walk a small ski piste from Ostritsa hut (60 m. ascent) and then there is a tiny (not so easy to find) path to the peak. The view is incredible but the best thing is that the chance to meet somebody there is very small so it is your private view to Studena dam, Kladnica, Rutartsi and Marchaevo and a beautiful landscape.

In Bulgaria we call it "gliganing" ("wild boaring") because there is no path through the mountain pine/pinus mugo ("Chernata skala" peak is rounded by mountain pine and there is no way to workaround it). Very good views - Cherni vrah, Sofia, Kopitoto and many Vitosha huts. Really really nice, but keep in mind that it is hard for walking. Smart people (not like me) uses long pants for this tour in order to easily pass the mountain pine. It is very rare to meet people on the upper part of this track. Check the tour: https://www.komoot.com/tour/197282573/zoom : There is no path or the path is not visible from the river to the forest. In the forest there is a nice visible path. After the forest there is a path from time to time but then when the mountain pine starts to enclose the peak - the path is lost and you start fighting with it alone. I hurried on my way back so I wasn't looking for a path there (it might be (or not) such path available on this side).
