The old town of Dubovac is one of the best preserved and most beautiful monuments of feudal architecture in Croatia. It got its name from the dub (oak) that grows on the surrounding slopes. There is a very good Kastel restaurant in town.

The old fortified medieval town of Slunj was mentioned for the first time in 1323, when the Croatian-Hungarian King Charles I. Robert donated the parish of Drežnik with Slunj to the Duke of Krčko, the future Frankopan. It is believed that there was already a fort there then. From 1390, Pavao Zrinski was the owner of Slunj for a short time, and Slunj would later pass into the hands of Frankopans again. Based on the division of inherited family property in 1449, Slunj became the seat of the Frankopans of Slunj until 1579, when that line of Frankopans died out.

It is worth visiting the old ruins; you can easily cycle there from Catrnja and then refresh yourself in the Korana. A great trip.
