The shelter at Jøvet, with its fire pit and table and benches, accommodates approximately 6 people and is equipped for a maximum of 10 people. The accommodation is designed for stays of a maximum of 2 days. The shelter site features a table and benches and a fire pit with a grill. The shelter is located at the top of the hill bordering the forest. From the shelter, you have a beautiful view of the Tornen Sea. You can collect firewood in the small grove behind the shelter. During the summer months, you can use the restroom, a few minutes' walk away below Jøvet, where you can also fetch water. Be considerate of the animals grazing in the fence. Noise and loud music are strictly prohibited and remember to take your trash home. Just behind the North Sea dike, Vester Vedsted’s shelters offer a scenic and peaceful stop. A nearby memorial and plaques mark the old Danish-German border (1864–1920) and a restored dyke hut from the 1920s. The site is clean, includes toilet facilities, and offers stunning sunset views. Located on Eurovelo 12 and Vestkustruten, it’s popular with cyclists, so reserving ahead is wise (except for one non-reservable shelter).

A shelter is the easiest way to spend the night in nature without sleeping directly on the ground in the open air. Here you are protected from wind and weather and at the same time enjoy an unobstructed view of nature and the surroundings.
