The weather is completely unpredictable… as always in the Faroe Islands. In my opinion, good hiking boots are a must for the climb.

At the beginning of the climb it is quite steep. But it is worth the effort.

Relatively easy climb, which is rewarded with a wonderful view. At the top there are also the remains of an old bunker, which probably dates from World War II. Be careful when it is wet as the steeper sections in particular can be quite slippery.

View with good visibility

Magnificent view to the east. It is from this point of view that we took two photos retained in our photo books. The first, towards the cliffs in the distance, illustrates the island of Esturoy in "Around the world in 80 islands", while the other, from the port of Eiði below, appears in "Around the world in 80 ports ". Two photos in one hike, it's magic! As long as the weather is nice, of course!

Nice view above Kellingin. But Kellingin cannot be seen. But still worth it.

The way up to Slættaratindur is steep and not marked; with good visibility but without problems to follow, since many have already climbed here, and accordingly the way is visible. Hiking shoes are a must, sure-footedness and a head for heights are a must. The very last part in particular still requires a bit of scrambling, albeit a feasible one. The view above of the surrounding islands is really fantastic! In my opinion you shouldn't do the hike in fog.
