This track leads from Whatipu Road to the summit of Omanawanui (241m). It is a lovely coastal walk from the entrance of the small car park which is also the entrance to the Puriri Ridge Walk and Don Mcclean. There is a lovely walking track and a new lookout at the highest point with fantastic 360 degree views. You can return the same way or continue hiking to Whatipu.

The volcano is breathtaking...in hot weather and strong sunlight, the climb is quite sporty - be careful of the sun

The park is absolutely wonderful...we were there from 14 to 28 January. The nature with its special flora and fauna makes you stop and take in the scenery for a while. The unique tree species are a particular delight

Anyone who goes up here will be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of Auckland.
