In 1986, a police car crashed into a street after a burst water pipe had washed out the road. This led to the rediscovery of the cellar labyrinth, which presumably stretches over 40 km. The city faced a problem because the city's structural stability was at risk. There is a slate cave on the serpentine path from the Kaub ferry to the fields near Henschhausen. No tunnel, so not deep, but suitable for a group as a shelter in the rain. The cave is a long way from the Traumschleifchen, Rheinburgenweg and World Heritage Trail! The serpentine path leading to the Kaub ferry is designated as the access route to the new world heritage site.
